BOGOR (July 23, 2020) - The Director General of Social Rehabilitation of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Harry Hikmat, gave directions to the employees of Melati Center on Capacity Building Activity which was delivered virtually via interactive Zoom.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has given us wisdom that it turns out that to hold meetings, dialogues, technical guidance or the like which is usually done face-to-face, nowadays it can be done virtually (virtual meetings) by observing the rules of health protocols without losing the essence of these activities, said Harry.

Harry conveyed the success of an organization because it works based on teamwork. "We are not looking for Superman, but we are looking for a super team," said Harry quoting the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari Batubara.

"Let's build a super team. When a super team is formed, all challenges, difficulties and obstacles can be overcome together, such as the proverb that many hands make light work," said Harry. Melati Center does not need to be confused in facing a difficult situation, as long as it works as a teamwork or super team.

“Build intensive communication, both horizontally and vertically, between superiors and subordinates or vice versa. From the communication we both know what can be cooperated. Work together as well as possible based on communication that has been well established so that coordination can be smooth, "said Harry. The benefits of coordination are complementary, mutually reinforcing and integrated systems.

Communication, cooperation, coordination, integration can take place more effectively if you use various media, it doesn't have to be visual/face to face, you can use virtual media, such as using cell phones, social media, video calling. The media can be used to carry out various activities, so that organizational performance can be more advanced.

“Build teamwork, to super team, improve communication strategy and use communication technology as part of the instrument in working. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are forced to use communication technology at this time, so there are many logical consequences that employees face, such as technology stuttering," explained Harry.

The millennial generation is expected not to be technology stuttering, can be a pioneer, initiator, and must have competence in the field of communication technology. It is hoped that they can help other employees who are not familiar with the use of communication technology. According to Harry, when technological innovation emerged and when technology became the main instrument in moving organizations, activities, business processes, that was the only characteristic of the birth of the industrial revolution 4.0.

“The feedback is let's increase our capacity so we don't left behind. It is never too late to learn for all employees. Upgrading knowledge and being open minded is absolutely a learning process for all employees to facilitate the service process in the era of adapting new habits. Don't be skeptical of change," Harry said.

Harry added that Melati Center must be able to find the ideal super team formation. All facilities that allow maximum publication in the service of the Center must be well prepared. The super team of the Center is expected to be able to optimize all public services.

Harry also expressed his interest in sign language for persons with hearing and speech sensory disabilities. “Sign Language Coaching is important to be held continuously at Melati Center. All employees must be able to understand sign language which is a medium of routine communication with people with hearing-deaf sensory disabilities,” said Harry.

Ending his directive for all Melati Center State Civil Apparatus (ASN), the Director General of Social Rehabilitation advised ASN of Melati Center to remain enthusiastic in working and disciplined in implementing health protocols. Harry ensured that Melati Center was able to provide the best service despite the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
