BEKASI (February 11, 2021) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, visits the elderly friendly area "Agrotourism for the Elderly" accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Idit Supriadi Priatna and Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly, Andi Hanindito on an area of ​​5091.48 m² to monitor the progress of Elderly Agrotourism as an innovation in developing an elderly-friendly area at the "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center Bekasi.

Until now, the land that was originally planted with oranges, cassava and catfish cultivation and there is still unused land that has not been used, has begun to be arranged like agrotourism. A row of beds of sweet potato, cassava, medicinal plants, porang have been planted.

Not only productive plants are available, the elderly agro-tourism area is also equipped with the concept of aquaponics (hydroponic planting methods and fish ponds), catfish farms, gazebos, flower gardens equipped with umbrella cafe seats, jogging tracks while seeing the beauty of gardens and parks.

Agrotourism for the elderly at the "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center Bekasi is currently a potential for empowering the elderly, supporting the fulfillment of the rights of the elderly and tourism in the environment around the Center with the concept of opening green open spaces into an elderly area to create productive, independent, healthy and active elderly activities.

It is hoped that the existence of Elderly Agrotourism will provide benefits in increasing environmental conservation, increasing aesthetic value and natural beauty, providing recreational value for those who visit and creating useful activities to implement Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for the elderly.

Also attending Head of Sub-Directorate of People Living with HIV and Head of OHH Section during the Elderly Agrotourism at the "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center Bekasi .
