Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation: Government Regulation Draft Habilitation and People with Disabilities Rehabilitation in Line with Elderly Social Rehabilitation
JAKARTA (October 22nd, 2019) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Edi Suharto gave direction at the Inter-Ministerial Meeting on the Government Regulation Draft (RPP) on Habilitation and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities at the Acacia Hotel, Jakarta.
According to Edi Suharto, this RPP has experienced extraordinary progress. Some issues have started to be solved, for example about habilitation and rehabilitation which had become a polemic in the previous discussion.
"This is in line with our advanced social rehabilitation, which includes Purposed Assistance, Therapy, Social Care and Family Support. Later, if habilitation is more about how children with disabilities from birth, also get services, attention, commitment, skills and family skills (parenting skills) in caring for children with special needs," he said.
Furthermore Edi Suharto stated that in the RPP on Habilitation and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities began to be seen the division of basic social rehabilitation and further social rehabilitation. Edi Suharto advised that the substance should be guarded and safeguarded, which are part of the regional government, which are part of the central government.
The preparation of the RPP on the Habilitation and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities was attended by 50 participants, representatives from the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of State Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs Legal Bureau, Organization, Law, and PR Directorate General of Social Protection and Security, Organization, Law, and PR Directorate General of Social Empowerment, and Organization, Law, and PR Directorate General of Poverty Handling.
