KERINCI (June 20th 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the “Alyatama” Children's Center in Jambi continue to distribute Social Assistance for basic food package to children assisted by the Social Welfare Institution (LKSA) in Kerinci Regency.
Kerinci Regency is located at the Ujung Barat of Jambi Province and directly adjacent to West Sumatra and Bengkulu Provinces. It takes 10 hours road trip from Jambi City which is the location of the Balai to arrive at the 3 LKSAs that provided basic food package assistance namely LKSA Barokah, Islam Al-Farabi and Uswatun Hasanah.
The remote location in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic has not deterred the Social Assistance distribution officer of the “Alyatama” Children’s Center who was directly escorted by Lifyarman as the Head of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section, Dedi Irawan and Ratu Nurdianti.
The arrival of the distribution team was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Kerinci Regency Social Service and his staff at the Barokah LKSA Hall.
"We are very grateful to BRSAMPK "Alyatama" for remembering and providing Social Assistance all the way here when the Pandemic was not over," said Samardin as the Head of the Kerinci Regency Social Service.
Samardin also informed that Kerinci Regency was selected as the New Normal Pilot Project with 101 other Regencies in Indonesia.
Enthusiasm was also evident from the expressions on the faces of the children who received Social Assistance from the three LKSAs who were present. Also present to accompany the children and LKSA, 2 people from the Social Workers of Kerinci Regency.
Lifyarman gave directions and explanations related to the basic food package assistance which is a form of love for the Ministry of Social Affairs through the “Alyatama” Children's Center.
"We have gone a long way in order to deliver 130 basic food packages for children here, we do all of this because we really love and care for children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Lifyarman.
Lifyarman also explained that the contents of the food packages consisting of 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of eggs, 800 grams of milk, 1 jar of sausage, 330 grams of cereal, and 137 grams of biscuits are following the Technical Guidelines for COVID-19 Pandemic Management Assistance for Neglected Children issued by the Directorat General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The distribution of basic food package for children affected by COVID-19 in Kerinci Regency will be the closing in 2020. The "Alyatama" Children’s Center has distributed basic food package assistance for 1,006 children spread across 25 LKSAs in Jambi Province.
