SURABAYA AND PASURUAN (November 2, 2024) - Ahead of National Heroes' Day 2024, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (Women's Organization for Civil Servant's Wives) of the Ministry of Social Affairs held an Anjangsana activity with Warakawuri or Heroes' Families in Surabaya and Pasuruan on November 2-3, 2024. During the visit, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided wheelchair assistance to the family of hero Elli Muntamah (47), wife of Danardono Ariotejo, grandson of hero RMTA. Soerjo and hearing aids to Ikrar Aulia (67), son of Brigadier General TNI H. Hasan Basri.

The assistance was handed over directly by the wife of the Minister of Social Affairs, Fatma Saifullah Yusuf, who is also the mentor of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Not only assistive devices, the Ministry of Social Affairs also handed over basic food packages and compassionate gifts which are expected to be useful for the families of heroes.

Based on PP No. 78 of 2018 concerning the Requirements and Procedures and Amount of Continuous Allowances for Fighters, Independence Pioneers and Families of National Heroes, the Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed continuous allowances in 2024 to the accounts of National Heroes' families on January 31, 2024 based on Decree Number 02/SK/5.3/PB.06.01/01/2024 dated January 19, 2024 with an amount of IDR 50,000,000 per year for each family.

The recipients are spread across several regions, including DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, and other regions in Indonesia with a total of 88 families.

In addition to the honorary allowance, the Ministry of Social Affairs also responded to the need for assistive devices proposed by the Indonesian National Heroes' Family Association (IKPNI). There were 53 proposals for assistive devices and 19 proposals for assistive devices for Widows of Independence Pioneers.
