MEDAN (11 October 2019) - Education about Human Immunodeficiency Virus / Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (HIV / AIDS) can contribute to restrain the speed of the HIV / AIDS epidemic in Indonesia. In connection with education to people living with HIV or people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA), “Bahagia” Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (BRSODH) Medan Thursday (11/10), located in the Hall held HIV Lecture activities for three-month Time Bound Shelter (TBS) beneficiaries.

The activity which contained information and education about matters relating to HIV / AIDS was filled by speakers from health practitioners. The activity was opened by the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Services Section, Tien Septemberiawati who explained the purpose and objectives of this activity, expect that the beneficiaries could follow and apply the things conveyed by the speakers.

dr. Titin Wahyuni ​​as the resource person from the Padang Bulan Medan Public Health Center delivered material related to Reproductive Health and the Mother to Child Prevention Program (PPIA). This was delievered so that the beneficiaries understood about reproductive health which would have a good effect on beneficiaries who wanted to carry out a pregnant program, related to the PPIA Program.

Beneficiaries were given the opportunity to ask questions about the material presented. In addition, questions about physical complaints they feel, both in relation to antiretroviral drugs and healthy living behaviors may also be asked. With good education for PLWHA especially three months TBS beneficiaries, they hope when they return to the community they can educate and reduce the negative stigma against PLWHA. (Helmayuni)
