CIREBON (September 11th, 2020) - Ministry of Social Affairs continues to ensure the availability, quantity, and quality of Rice Social Assistance (BSB) in various locations of BULOG Warehouses. The checks are carried out starting from the rice stock, the quality of the packaged rice, the packaging used, and the rice cooking test for medium quality.

On Friday (11/9), Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto and Secretary of Directorate General of Social Empowerment Bambang Sugeng visited BULOG warehouses in Cirebon and Majalengka. The purpose of this visit is to check and ensure the availability of Rice Social Assistance at Bulog Warehouse Arjawinangun Cirebon and Warehouse Bulog Kasokandel Majalengka. They were accompanied by the Head of BULOG Cirebon Branch and West Java BULOG Regional Leader. This warehouse will serve the availability of BSB for PKH beneficiaries in West Java region.

The first location visited was BULOG Arjawinangun Cirebon warehouse. Arjawinangun warehouse has 9 warehouse units with a capacity of up to 9,000 tons of rice with 35 workers. The availability of BSB that is ready to be distributed in Arjawinangun warehouse in the amount of 1,500 tons for KPM PKH in Kab. Cirebon and Kab. Majalengka.

The Head of Arjawinangun Warehouse Sutrisno said that Arjawinangun BULOG Warehouse is ready to distribute BSB to the recipient.

"Yesterday we invited the Transporter, Social Service, PKH Facilitators to test the rice ripening and discuss the distribution points. Everything is ready," said Sutrisno.

Furthermore, Edi Suharto together with the team visited the BULOG Kasokandel Kab. Majalengka. At this location, Edi Suharto also re-checked the preparation and availability of rice with a good quality. So that it is suitable to be used to be distributed to PKH beneficiaries.

"Actually, this is ready to be distributed. For that, we must continue to increase the stock of BBS availability in the warehouse," said Edi Suharto.

Kasokandel warehouse, Kab. Majalengka has 4 warehouse units. Each unit can hold 3,500 tons. This warehouse will prepare BSB stock for PKH beneficiaries in Majalengka.

Secretary of Directorate General of Social Empowerment explained that if the transporter delivered BSB in BULOG warehouse, then there must be samples of rice to be transported. So that the transporter can also ensure that BSB is in good condition.

BSB during this pandemic period will be given to 10 million PKH beneficiaries throughout Indonesia who are affected by COVID-19. Each KPM will receive a medium quality BSB of 45 kg for 3 months, the distribution of which is 30 kg in September and 15 kg in October.

Also attending the visit were Head of Bulog Majalengka Branch, Head of Bulog Kasokandel Warehouse, representatives of PT. Bhanda Ghara Reksa (BGR), Head of General Section of Secretariat Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Head of Sub-Directorate of LKS Directorate of PSPKKM, Technical Team of the Directorate of PSPKKM, and Head of Sub Division of Administration, Secretariat of Social Empowerment.
