CIBINONG (February 15, 2021) - The Center for Vocational Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities (BBRVPD) "Cibinong" received a visit from the Rehabilitation Center (Pusrehab) of the Ministry of Defense. This visit is in order to establish cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Social Affairs
The Head of Pusrehab, Brigadier General Nana Sarnadi, said that in general the tasks of Pusrehab and the Cibinong Center are very similar, both providing vocational rehabilitation services. "The difference is that in us the subject is defense personnel who lose limbs in carrying out their duties."
According to Nana, the need to establish this collaboration is because the Ministry of Social Affairs is the Ministry that handles persons with disabilities. Moreover, of the approximately 6,600 disabled personnel at the Ministry of Defense, only 2,000 have received rehabilitation services, be it medical, social or vocational rehabilitation.
The Task Executor of Cibinong Center, Eva Rahmi Kasim who is also the Director of Social Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, welcomed this visit. According to Eva, the Ministry of Social Affairs has policies and technical programs in fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities, namely respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities
"The Ministry of Social Affairs also has 19 Social Rehabilitation Centers for Persons with Disabilities as Technical Implementation Unit (UPT), which have work coverage areas spread throughout Indonesia," Eva explained.
The UPT is the Implementer of the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program in the region through activities to support the fulfillment of a decent life, social care, family support, therapy, skills and entrepreneurship training, social assistance and accessibility support.
Cibinong Center is a UPT that focuses on vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. There are 7 types of training organized by Cibinong Center, namely Tailoring, Computer, Printing Free Design, Electronics, Metal Work, Automotive and Contact Center. In addition, entrepreneurship training will also be developed
In the future, according to Eva, trainings tailored to market demand will be developed. "So we prepare workers with disabilities based on the business world," continued Eva
During this visit, the Pusrehab group also reviewed the existing facilities and infrastructure at the Cibinong Center such as polyclinics, physiotherapy rooms, assessment rooms, workshops and dormitories.
