JAKARTA (October 15, 2020) - The Directorate General of Social Empowerment of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs held a data reconciliation meeting on the distribution of the social assistance rice distribution in order to encourage the acceleration of distribution and coordination of the evaluation of the implementation of the rice social assistance in 2020.
Located at the Grand Mercure Harmoni Jakarta, the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara gave directions and coordinated directly with several parties involved in the implementation of the rice social assistance program.
This evaluation meeting brought together several parties involved in the distribution of BSB, including Perum BULOG, the Provincial Social Office, Transporters, and Family Hope Program (PKH) Companions.
Rice Social Assistance (BSB) for 10 Million Family Beneficiaries (KPM) PKH, with the amount of 15 kg per KPM PKH given for three months starting from August to October 2020. This assistance aims to reduce the burden of spending on KPM PKH through partial fulfillment of rice food needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that the target for the distribution of the Rice Social Assistance was expected to be 100% completed by the end of October 2020.
"All parties must accelerate the distribution of rice until it is received by KPM according to the target by referring to existing regulations," explained Juliari P. Batubara.
Each party involved in the implementation of the BSB program is expected to be able to carry out their respective duties and responsibilities so that the implementation can be carried out on time, in the right amount, and on target.

BSB is one of the government's efforts to fulfill the basic needs of the poor who are KPM PKH. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic which has paralyzed various sectors of life, including informal sector workers.
All parties also need to pay attention to the aspects of fairness and accountability in implementation and reporting, because even during a pandemic, inspections will continue as per existing regulations.
In its implementation in the field, there are still often obstacles and obstacles so that continuous coordination and communication between the parties involved is required.
It should also be noted that currently, in general, the distribution of social assistance for rice has reached 72.60% of the rice that has been received by KPM PKH. Some areas do experience geographical and weather constraints, but many areas have already taken the third phase of distribution.
The smoothness and success of this rice assistance program cannot be separated from the role of Social Offices and PKH companions who directly participate in the community in the distribution process.
With BSB, the government hopes that none of the people lack basic needs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
