Families of Sorong Riot Victims Receive Compensation from the Ministry of Social Affairs

The families of the victims who died as a result of the riot that caused a fire at one of the entertainment venues in Sorong City, West Papua have received compensation for heirs from the Ministry of Social Affairs (8/3).

Representing the Minister of Social Affairs, the compensation was given by the Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Social Service, H. A. Irawan Bintang together with the Coordinator of the Sub-Directorate for Handling Social and Political Disaster Victims, Yustina Suhartiningsih. This compensation was given to the heirs of the victim named Widyanti Ariesta Anugrah who died in the riot.

The provision of compensation to the heirs in the amount of 15 million rupiah along with food packages to the heirs is a form of government condolences for the disaster that befell the victims.
