BANDUNG (July 19, 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center Wyata Guna Bandung continues to
distribute eggs and ready-to-eat food to support the fulfillment of food needs
for people affected by Covid-19 during the period of the emergency Public
Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Today's Nasi Box menu is semur chicken, capcay, oranges, and mineral water distributed to hospitals, Social
Welfare Institutions (LKS), communities, self-isolated residents, police,
community protectors, urban villages, orphanages, Koramil, Christian Churches
Indonesia (GKI) and insulation officers with a total distribution of 7,146
eggs, 3,573 egg packs, 2,500 rice boxes involving employees, and Dharma Wanita Association
of Wyata Guna Bandung, Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana), and employees from
the West Java Social Service.
Wawan Subarna or as he is
known as Abah, one of the officers in the public kitchen, explained that the
mechanism for serving food in the public kitchen starts with shopping for fresh
vegetables and good quality side dishes at Ciroyom Market in Bandung at night.
Upon arrival at the public kitchen, all the ingredients are immediately
processed into ready-to-eat dishes. The division of tasks in the kitchen is carried
out for the smooth distribution of food.
“Every day we are always
learning. An important lesson we learned from the experience of shopping and
cooking in public kitchens is to choose a menu that is measured in quantity.
Currently, the cooking team prefers processed menus that are measured in
quantity, such as fried chicken, avoiding ingredients that are easily destroyed
when cooked, such as the chicken liver. In addition, there is a Packing Team in
charge of controlling the packaging so that the food is sufficient,” said Abah.
The thing that is no less
important is paying attention to cleanliness in the public kitchen environment,
and hygiene in cooking.
