JAKARTA (May 8, 2021) - The Budhi Dharma Elderly Center in Bekasi, under the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, also supports the government's efforts to protect the public from the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic with the COVID-19 vaccination program, including the persons with disabilities.

In accordance with the directives of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, all Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs, especially the Centers under the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, must provide multifunctional social rehabilitation services for all types of social problems in their areas.

The Budhi Dharma Bekasi Elderly Center supports the efforts of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs by helping to facilitate the pick-up of persons with disabilities from the Budhi Bakti Social Institution (PSBD) West Jakarta and the Bina Karya Social Institution (PSBK) Harapan Jaya Tangerang Banten to Istora Senayan Jakarta and carrying out
COVID-19 vaccination assistance which was held on Wednesday (May 4, 2021) and today, Saturday (May 8, 2021) according to schedule and coordination with the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

The first team at the Budhi Dharma Bekasi Elderly Center consisting of Social Workers, Nawula, and Nurses, picked up and delivered 20 people with disabilities at PSBD Budhi Bakti, East Jakarta. Assistance for social workers and nurses for persons with disabilities according to the Covid-19 vaccination procedure starting from registration, initial assessment to see medical history, and health checks measuring body temperature and blood pressure until the completion of the COVID-19 vaccination.

A nurse at the Budhi Dharma Elderly Center, Rudy Setyadi, conveyed that, in general, assistance with COVID-19 vaccination for persons with disabilities does not show any side effects on their health conditions after the implementation of the vaccination. This COVID-19 vaccination is the second vaccination for persons with disabilities PSBD Budhi Bakti.

Later today, Saturday (8 May 2021) the Budhi Dharma Bekasi Elderly Center picked up and delivered 43 people with disabilities to the Bina Karya Harapan Jaya Tangerang Social Institution, which is an orphanage owned by the West Java regional government that provides special attention for people with mental disabilities.
Along with 5 Centers belonging to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, the Budhi Dharma center team, consisting of Social worker Komariyah and nurse Rahmat Hidayat, accompanied 8 individuals who would carry out the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination. Similar to the first team, the assistance with the COVID-19 vaccination starts with registration, and health screening, followed by the implementation of the vaccination and post-vaccination observation for COVID-19.

After the implementation of the 
COVID-19 vaccination, the Budhi Dharma Bekasi Elderly Center handed over ATENSI assistance in the form of packages containing mineral water, UHT milk, honey, grass jelly drinks, dates, biscuits, chocolate sucro nuts, potato chips to 20 people with disabilities PSBD Budhi Bakti West Jakarta and 23 people with PSBK Harapan Jaya Tangerang disabilities to boost their body's immunity after the COVID-19 vaccination.

Raspai, one of the recipients of the ATENSI assistance, expressed his gratitude for the gifts he received. He also expressed his joy because after the vaccine he felt no side effects.

The
COVID-19 vaccination activity for persons with disabilities is a form of concern from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in an effort to fulfill the needs and rights of persons with disabilities, one of which is fulfilling the right to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
