"Gau Mabaji" Elderly Center Carried Out Case Response on Elderly in East Luwu
EAST LUWU (October 22, 2020) - The "Gau Mabaji" Social Rehabilitation Center for Elderly (BRSLU) Gowa which is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs within the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation has dispatched case response officers to deal with an elderly problem in the East Luwu Regency who was referred by the local Regency Social Office.
Mrs. K (82 years old) is reported to be sick and living in a house in Lengkong Hamlet, Bawalipu Village, Wotu District, East Luwu. She is a widow and has one child with mental retardation who is unable to take care of her.
His aging physique forced him to no longer work. This condition is exacerbated by the pain experienced. But now he has recovered after being treated for a few days at the Lagaligo Hospital. Daily needs are only assisted by the government and local residents.
Rosniati, Social Worker from the "Gau Mabaji" Elderly Center assigned to carry out case management seeks to find a source system and coordinate with the East Luwu Regency Social Office, Wotu Sub-district, Bawalipu Village Head and the Elderly Social Welfare Agency (LKS-LU ) to determine the best alternative services. for the elderly.
"We hope that if the conditions allow services and care for the elderly to be carried out by the family and the local community. The Elderly Center will support the Family Strengthening Program or strengthening community participation through the active role of Social Welfare Agencies," said Rosniati.
