PARIGI (September 7, 2020) - The entrepreneurship development program through community-based social rehabilitation (RSBM) is a recovery effort that involves the role of families and community groups to develop the potential and independence of persons with intellectual disabilities.

The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Center for Social Rehabilitation of People with Intellectual Disabilities "Nipotowe" Palu has been running this program for about a month in Parigi district by involving beneficiaries together with RSBM assistants in vocational development activities. Based on the results of the beneficiary assessment that had been carried out previously, the selected vocational developments were animal husbandry and catering.

Head of the Palu Disability Center "Nipotowe", Aladin as the activity supervisor along with the RSBM program monitoring and evaluation officer made direct visits to several vocational activity groups who were carrying out work practices. Aladin appreciated the Beneficiaries who made various kinds of chips in vocational culinary arts. "These chips are delicious, they can be marketed, I hope my children can maintain the quality of this product, if necessary, increase it so that this product can be more popular."

At the location of the livestock vocational practice, the beneficiaries of the RSBM program run a goat farming business. Goats were chosen because they do not require a large area of land and are considered easier and faster to maintain than other large animal farms such as cows. Even one of the livestock has become pregnant, this shows that there is a good development of the results of the beneficiary's practice.

On this occasion, the Head of Balai together with Social Workers provided reinforcement in the form of motivation to the beneficiaries to continue to be enthusiastic in developing their business. "Well, my children, this program should not be underestimated, in making a business it will not be big right away, but it is initiated from the bottom with patience and tenacity so that it can become a successful business," said Aladin.

This evaluation monitoring activity is a series of social rehabilitation service activities outside the Balai as part of outreach activities for persons with intellectual disabilities who have not received services from the Balai.
