Gorontalo Provincial DPRD Commission IV Visit to BRSAMPK "Toddopuli"
MAKASSAR (September, 3 2020) – The “Toddopuli” Social Rehabilitation Center for Children in Need of Special Protection (BRSAMPK) Makassar received a working visit from Commission IV DPRD Province Gorontalo.
Head of "Toddopuli" Center Makassar, Christiana Junus received directly from the DRPD group. In her speech, Christiana conveyed ATENSI (social rehabilitation assistance) through a family, community and residential approach carried out by "Toddopuli" Center Makassar.
In her next presentation Christiana explained 7 coverage areas, one of which was Gorontalo Province, namely South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Papua and West Papua.
Christiana further revealed that the interventions that had been carried out in the Gorontalo Province Work area during the COVID-19 pandemic were the provision of social rehabilitation assistance to 120 children (1 million rupiah per child each) through LKSAs in Gorontalo Province and Kid Recreational assistance to 3 LKSAs that do not receive child social assistance.
Team Leader and Deputy Chairperson of the DPRD Sofyan Puhi said that Commission IV handles Social Welfare and Education. The purpose of the visit to "Toddopuli" Center Makassar is to conduct a comparative study on the handling of children's problems, especially children who are in the Social Welfare Institutions (LKS). Sofyan added that the crime rate in Gorontalo Province involving children is quite high, and one of the reasons is a broken home family.
During his visit, the DPRD member also conducted a review of the PPKS Wisma and the therapy room accompanied by the Head of "Toddopuli" Center Makassar and the Section Head of Social Rehabilitation Services.
