JAKARTA (February 4, 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Worker of "Handayani" Children's Center Jakarta conducted a Case Response to the news received by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation through media posters circulating in the community regarding information on Families with Children with Disabilities who need assistance. Following up on the report, The Head of the Center Tasks Executor, Sulistya Ariadhi immediately assigned Social Workers to respond to cases and coordinate directly with Parents of Children with Disabilities for further assessment.
Based on the results of the assessment carried out, RA is a child with a disability with various physical disabilities, namely cerebral palsy who lives in the Tanjung Barat Urban Village, South Jakarta with his two parents in a rented house. Currently, RA still has comorbid health problems, such as scoliosis, bronchopneumonia, and laryngomalacia so that it requires regular medical care every month using BPJS Health.
Currently RA can only lie down at home using Nasogastric Tube Feeding (NGT) to help eat and drink, so RA needs maximum assistance. RA's father currently works as a Cleaning Service in Jakarta with an income of IDR 3,500,000, while his mother is a housewife. Every month, RA requires at least 10 cans of milk to meet his dietary needs, as well as daily presses. Certainly, it becomes very burdensome for families with economic limitations because RA's parents still have to provide for other household matters, such as paying for electricity, rent, and other household needs.
Based on the results of the assessment, the "Handayani" Children's Center provides assistance in meeting needs in the form of milk, press and snacks for children. The assistance given was warmly welcomed by Mrs. RA and Grandma RA.
"I would like to thank the Minister of Social Affairs through the "Handayani" Children's Center for their assistance," said Mrs. RA.
