TERNATE (19 July 2021) – Social Rehabilitation Center “Wasana Bahagia” of Ternate as a technical implementing unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs established a public kitchen post as a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharani. The establishment of this public kitchen aims to provide ready-to-eat food to residents affected by COVID-19, especially for those who are undergoing self-isolation.

In his statement, the Head of the Center, Udan Suheli, said Wasana Bahagia Center of Ternate prepares at least 120 ready-to-eat rice boxes every day and each box consists of rice, chicken eggs, fish, vegetables, and fruits, "We distributed the food packages to 60 recipients during the day and night," said Udan. The distribution of food packages begins on July 19 and will last for the next fourteen days.

One of the recipients of food aid, Nia (40 years old) is a resident of Gamayou Ternate. She and her three children are in self-isolation. On Friday (16/7) Nia and one of her children were declared reactive to SWAB Antigen. "I am a single parent, to meet my daily needs I have a small catering business, but since Isoman I have stopped my business," Nia said.

Immediately after being declared reactive, Nia reported to the village officer of Kampung Makassar Barat. By the village staff, Nia's case was reported to Wasana Bahagia Ternate.

Nia thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for the assistance provided. With the help of this package at least one burden has been reduced on her shoulders. "Now I can focus on recovery, I need to be healthy and continue my catering business," concluded Nia.
