Improving the Health of the Elderly, Mulya Jaya Center Holds Posyandu Activities for the Elderly

Jakarta (June 9, 2022) - Following up on the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini as stated in the Minister of Social Affairs Regulation Number 7 of 2021 on Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) regarding the Health Center (Posyandu) for the Elderly, the Ministry of Social Affairs through Mulya Jaya Center Jakarta has established an Elderly Posyandu in RW 02 area Gedong Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta since November 25, 2021. This activity is in collaboration with RT, RW, Gedong Village PKK Team, and the Gedong Village Health Center.

 

Mulya Jaya Center has assessed the elderly as many as 271 people spread over 10 RT in RW 02 and 122 people are included in the priority services based on the socio-economic conditions of the elderly. The Head of the Center, Adrianus Alla explained that this service is routinely provided to the elderly who live in the Center environment once a month.

 

"This Elderly Posyandu activity will be routinely held every second Thursday of the month," explained Adri.

 

The main activities carried out are health checks in the form of blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol, and weight measurement for the elderly. If there are elderly who require further medical examinations, they will be facilitated for access to the nearest hospital. The elderly are also given additional nutrition in the form of fruits and food.

 

"We are very happy because Mulya Jaya Center has facilitated the elderly in RW 02 in particular to improve their health," said Nunuk Yulianti, head of RW 02.

 

This activity was carried out at the ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) Mulya Jaya, located on Jalan Tat Twam Asi, MoSA Complex, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. With the Posyandu for the Elderly, it is hoped that it can improve the health and standard of living of the elderly.
