Increasing the Synergy of Child Protection, "Rumbai" Center Collaborates with CSR

PEKANBARU (October 27, 2020) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru received Social Assistance from the Community Development Program which is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs from the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V (PTPN V) and the Wife's Family Association (IKBI) PTPN V. Assistance was given directly by the President Director of PTPN and IKBI to the Pekanbaru "Rumbai" Children's Center.
The involvement of the business world is in accordance with the mandate of the Child Protection Law Number 35 of 2014 Article 72 point 6c which explains that one of the roles of the business world is to contribute to the fulfillment of children's rights through corporate social responsibility. The Corporate Social Responsibility Program or CSR is a social investment to support the creation of sustainable development. Synergy with the company is the most important part in the effort to fulfill the rights of children who need special protection at the Pekanbaru "Rumbai" Children's Center.
The group of 25 people was received directly by the Head of Center, represented by the Head of the Administrative Subdivision, Suyono and the Head of the Section for Social Rehabilitation Services, Muhammad Toher in the Office Hall Room. Through his remarks, Suyono expressed his gratitude to PTPN V and IKBI PTPN V who have been willing to provide social assistance to meet the needs of the social rehabilitation service process for Children in Need of Special Protection (AMPK). In addition, it also explains the profile of the "Rumbai" Children's Center as a child social rehabilitation institution that focuses on AMPK services.
Social assistance from the environmental development program provided by PTPN V and IKBI PTPN V in the form of sports equipment, educational game equipment, basic necessities, the needs of pregnant women and babies and other goods amounting to 32 million Rupiah. The purpose of this assistance is to support social rehabilitation service activities for AMPK as well as to complete service facilities at the "Rumbai" Children's Center.
"BUMN is also part of the government that has social responsibility in providing assistance to the community in general, hopefully the activities accompanying children here can be a charity for all of us. We also often hold events for children during company anniversary events, in the future we will participate invite the children in the hall to be involved in these activities," said the President Director, Jatmiko K. Santosa in his speech.

The handover of aid was symbolically handed over by the President Director and Chair of the PTPN V IKBI directly to the "Rumbai" Children's Center. After that, the group continued to visit the girls' dormitory and greeted the Service Recipient directly and to the baby room. Then the group also took the time to see the activities of male service recipients in skills training and entrepreneurship in welding techniques and barbershops. Through this visit, the President Director expressed his appreciation by buying a shabby flower pot made by service recipients at Welding Engineering.
The group also gave enthusiasm and motivation to service recipients in undergoing social rehabilitation at the "Rumbai" Children's Center. You can see the joy and enthusiasm of the service recipients in welcoming the visit of the PTPN V and IKBI groups.
Through this visit and provision of assistance, it is hoped that there will be more friendship and sustainable cooperation between "Rumbai" Childrem's Center and PTPN V, especially in the field of AMPK Social Rehabilitation Services.
