Innovation of 'Ngober' Bicycle Seat from Beneficiaries of "Paramita" Children's Center
MATARAM (January 27, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs' Children's Center "Paramita" in Mataram, continues to produce new innovations through its beneficiaries. Now the latest, the beneficiaries have succeeded in making a combination of chairs and bicycles. This work was made in Welding and Carpentry.
Ketut Supena as the Head of the Center said that the Chair-Bike was made because people during this pandemic are limited to activities outside their homes. However, the public's interest in exercising, especially cycling, is also high.
"So, we view this condition as an opportunity for us to make Bicycle Chairs, so that we can work and have a relaxing coffee, as well as doing sports. Certainly, the main thing is that the beneficiaries pour their thoughts in a positive direction, learn to make works that can compete in the market, able to manage the finances of their sales, because the proceeds from the sale of products are entirely for them. Let's "Ngober" (drinking coffee while cycling)!" said Ketut.
According to some of the beneficiaries' accounts, it takes them two days to complete one Bike-Seat, if the required materials are available. The materials used are used goods such as bicycles that are no longer used, two-wheeled vehicle rims that are no longer used, iron, wood, paint and water hyacinth.
In addition, these bicycle chairs are also used as a means of supporting discussions by social workers in exploring the problems faced by beneficiaries. Risky, one of the social workers at Paramita said that by having a relaxed discussion, the beneficiaries are more open to discuss the problems they face.
