Intensive Monitoring of Public Kitchen Operations, Social Minister Risma Ensures Fulfillment of Food and Nutrition Needs for Community during Emergency PPKM
JAKARTA (July 12, 2021) – MoSA continues to ensure that people affected by
the Covid-19 pandemic are met with their basic needs, especially during the
Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Through the
activation of public kitchens, MoSA supplies ready-to-eat food and nutrition in
the form of cooked eggs to the public.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini,
has carried out intensive monitoring of the operationalization of public
kitchens, which are now established in seven cities. During her visit to the
public kitchen cooking area, Social Minister Risma checked the availability and
processing of food menus. As she did in MoSA's public kitchen at the Kalibata
Main National Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Jakarta, and the Convention Hall in
Surabaya, recently.
Risma wants to ensure that the community, especially
health workers, and emergency PPKM field officers such as the TNI-Polri, Satpol PP,
Dishub, and others get enough food and nutrition needs. “They are field
officers and have direct contact with the community. So the risk is big. They
must be healthy and have sufficient nutrition,” said Risma during her visit to
the public kitchen of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Surabaya Convention Hall
Building.
Today, Minister Risma has instructed her staff to
distribute aid for 2000 people (600 families) to Rusunawa Komaruddin in Penggilingan Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta. The Director of Social Protection for
Victims of Natural Disasters, Syafii Nasution, stated that those who were
assisted were residents who were in self-isolation and were economically
incapable.
"Aid is supplied from the public kitchen of MoSA
TMPNU Kalibata in the form of ready-to-eat meals with side dishes of meat,
boiled eggs, tempeh, and vegetables, plus citrus fruits and mineral water,"
said Syafii Nasution.
Two public kitchens provide ready-to-eat food and cooked eggs, namely MoSA's public kitchen at TMPNU
Kalibata Jakarta, and the Convention Hall in Surabaya. Five other public kitchens
of MoSA supply cooked eggs. Namely the public kitchen of Wyata Guna Center Bandung,
Prof. DR. Soeharso Center Surakarta, Center for Social Welfare Education and
Training (BBPPKS) Regional III Yogyakarta, Ciung Wanara Center Cibinong, and Mahatmiya
Center Bali.
