Intensive Monitoring of Public Kitchen Operations, Social Minister Risma Ensures Fulfillment of Food and Nutrition Needs for Community during Emergency PPKM

JAKARTA (July 12, 2021) – MoSA continues to ensure that people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic are met with their basic needs, especially during the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Through the activation of public kitchens, MoSA supplies ready-to-eat food and nutrition in the form of cooked eggs to the public.

 

The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, has carried out intensive monitoring of the operationalization of public kitchens, which are now established in seven cities. During her visit to the public kitchen cooking area, Social Minister Risma checked the availability and processing of food menus. As she did in MoSA's public kitchen at the Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Jakarta, and the Convention Hall in Surabaya, recently.

 

Risma wants to ensure that the community, especially health workers, and emergency PPKM field officers such as the TNI-Polri, Satpol PP, Dishub, and others get enough food and nutrition needs. “They are field officers and have direct contact with the community. So the risk is big. They must be healthy and have sufficient nutrition,” said Risma during her visit to the public kitchen of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Surabaya Convention Hall Building.

 

Today, Minister Risma has instructed her staff to distribute aid for 2000 people (600 families) to Rusunawa Komaruddin in Penggilingan Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta. The Director of Social Protection for Victims of Natural Disasters, Syafii Nasution, stated that those who were assisted were residents who were in self-isolation and were economically incapable.

 

"Aid is supplied from the public kitchen of MoSA TMPNU Kalibata in the form of ready-to-eat meals with side dishes of meat, boiled eggs, tempeh, and vegetables, plus citrus fruits and mineral water," said Syafii Nasution.

 

Two public kitchens provide ready-to-eat food and cooked eggs, namely MoSA's public kitchen at TMPNU Kalibata Jakarta, and the Convention Hall in Surabaya. Five other public kitchens of MoSA supply cooked eggs. Namely the public kitchen of Wyata Guna Center Bandung, Prof. DR. Soeharso Center Surakarta, Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) Regional III Yogyakarta, Ciung Wanara Center Cibinong, and Mahatmiya Center Bali.

 

Today, TMPNU Kalibata Public Kitchen Command has distributed a total of 11,724 food packages, consisting of 5,862 boxes of ready-to-eat food and 5,862 cooked eggs. The distribution of fast food was given to health workers as many as 1930 boxes, Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) as many as 915 boxes, and as many as 3,017 boxes for self-isolation residents. 4000 eggs are allocated to health workers at Wisma Athletes.

In Bandung, it can be reported that MoSA's public kitchen at Wyata Guna Center Bandung distributed 4,686 items (2,343 packages). Egg packages were sent to health workers at Bandung City Hospital for as many as 1,006 items (503 packages), Bhayangkara Hospital for as many as 960 eggs (480 packages), Hasan Sadikin Hospital for as many as 1,200 eggs (600 packages), and Al Ikhsan Hospital as many as 1,076 eggs (538 packages).

Also sent to Muhammadiyah Hospital as many as 100 items (50 packages), 34 items for residents at Wyata Guna Center (17 packages), 70 items for Cibeureum residents (35 items), 20 items (10 packages) for security officers from Pasir Kaliki Village, TAGANA Team, Wyata Guna Team and Service Recipients as many as 80 items (40 packages), and Cicendo Police Sector as 140 items (70 packages).
