CIBINONG (July 25th, 2020) - Social pillars in this regard Youth Organization also helped realizing social welfare.

Based on Permensos Number 25 of 2019, the definition of Youth Organization is an organization formed by the community as a place for young people to develop themselves, grow, and develop on the basis of awareness and social responsibility of, by, and for young people, oriented towards the achievement of social welfare for the community.

One of Karang Taruna's tasks is to develop the potential of the young generation and society. This can be proven from the Youth Organization activities in Cibinong District.

Saturday (7/25), In between his holidays, Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment as well as Director of Social Empowerment for Individuals, Families, and Community Institutions (PSPKKM) Bambang Sugeng, spend the time to visit Karang Taruna, Cibinong District. He was accompanied by the PSPKKM Working Group Bambang Mulyadi and the Head of Karang Taruna and TKSK Sub-Directorate Dwi Citawasih. On the occasion of his visit, he gave motivation to Youth Organization which mobilized various positive and beneficial activities for members and surrounding communities.

"In a pandemic like today, the benefits of these activities are felt and invites people to be more productive and do positive things," said Bambang Sugeng.

The main activities of Karang Taruna Cibinong include agriculture and fisheries. Cibinong Youth Organization Deputy and Coordinator of Cibinong Youth Organization, Dian Asmara, said that the activities carried out with the surrounding community were aimed to maintain food security.

"This activity is carried out with the surrounding community. The aim is to maintain community food security. At the same time, entrepreneurship can increase productive economic efforts for members of Youth Organization," explained Dian Asmara.

Karang Taruna Cibinong has catfish fisheries in a bucket (ledamber), as well as raising catfish and tilapia in 50 biofloc. They also provide 4 bioflocs for people who want to learn fish farming in groups, which are filled with catfish and pomfret.

In agriculture, they are actively planting a variety of vegetables and fruits such as chillies, tomatoes, eggplants, pokchoys, kale, cassava, guavas, longan, avocados, and others. There is also a butternut squash or pumpkin shaped like a bean with a very delicious and sweet taste, which is placed on a catfish nursery pond.

Their garden are currently dominated by 4,200 superior quality avocado seeds. They themselves breed from seed and grafting to produce thick fleshy avocados even without seeds with a good taste. Some of the seeds they produce are sold, and some are distributed to the community to be cultivated in their homes.

In addition to avocado nurseries, Karang Taruna Cibinong is also conducting grape breeding and preparing para-para throughout the garden. To run the farming business, Dian Asmara formed several Farmer Groups (Poktan) and invited anyone who wants to join, study, and work together.

Bambang Sugeng appreciated what the Cibinong Youth Organization had done. He and his visiting group looked enthusiast listening to information, observing and discussing with members of the Youth Organization of Cibinong, as well as surrounding community groups who participated in working on agricultural land and fisheries.

"This is very good, really shows how Youth Organization is able to mobilize the empowerment of the surrounding community," said Bambang Sugeng.

It is expected that entrepreneurial activities carried out by Youth Organization in various regions can help the government in alleviating social problems in Indonesia. Karang Taruna Cibinong is one of the Youth Organizations that is very caring, and empowers youth and the community in their area with brilliant concepts and ideas, continued by Bambang Sugeng at the end of the visit.
