JAKARTA (November 22, 2019) -
The passing of the Social Workers Act (Peksos, red) makes this profession have
legal certainty. This legal umbrella will optimize the role, function, as well
as become a formal legal mandate and protection of social workers in carrying out
social work practices.
Badiklitpensos continues to
aggressively socialize the Law on Social Workers. One of them was through
publication workshops in the dissemination of information regarding Law No. 14
of 2019 concerning Social Workers.
"The existence of social
workers have an important role in efforts to develop social welfare," said
Head of the Social Research and Counseling Education Agency (Badiklit Pensos)
Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) Syahabuddin in his remarks at a workshop
on publication of information on law number 14 of 2019 concerning social work,
Jakarta, Thursday (11/21/2019).
In this workshop series also
presented a talk show with the theme, "Where do the Social Worker Profession Head to???" presents several figures who played an important role
in the birth of the social workers' law, namely TB Ace Hasan Syadzily Deputy
chairman of the House of Representatives Commission VIII, Secretary-General of
the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Secretary-General of KPSI, Fentiny
Nugroho Lecturer of Social Welfare at the University of Indonesia, LSPS
representative, Head of Legal Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Social
Affairs, Head of Organization and Staffing Bureau.
"The Social Workers Law
is very important to be supported because the need for handling social problems
that are so complex and many in Indonesia requires professional treatment, it
is not enough to only handle partially and incidentally," explained Ace
Hasan Syadzily Deputy chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI
Ace Hasan added, For this
reason, highly professional human resources are needed, including social
workers who do have competence in this field.
Meanwhile, on the same
occasion the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hartono Laras
said, "Ministry of Social Affairs represents the government is fully
committed to supporting the Social Workers Act from the start".
It is important for everyone
to understand this Social Workers Act not only from a dogmatic textual point of
view but also its context.
"In the future the Ministry of
Social Affairs will also implement TOT for the Ministry of Social Ministry's
internal ranks who will be involved in the socialization of the Social Workers
Law, so that they have the same understanding and misinformation will occur so
that it creates a difference in understanding for all people who will be
targeted for socialization," concluded the Secretary-General.
Present as participants in
this activity were social workers, academics, social study program students,
representatives from a number of UPT Badiklitpensos, structural and functional
employees of the Ministry of Social eschelon work unit (UKE) 1. With a total of 200 participants,
this activity will be held on November 20-22, 2019 at the Jakarta Media Hotel.
