JAKARTA (November 28, 2019) - At present and in the future, the development of social problems in Indonesia is increasingly complex both in terms of quantity and quality so that it needs to be handled professionally by Social Workers.

After the birth of Law Number 14 of 2019 concerning Social Workers, strategic steps need to be taken, through socialization to related parties, the Ministry of Social Affairs also Arranges Implementing Regulations mandating the Act, and Supports the Birth of Social Worker Professional Education in Indonesia.

"In supporting the birth of the Social Worker Professional Education in Indonesia in the future we will prepare a Study Program, Budget, Human Resources, Facilities and Infrastructure at the Bandung Social Welfare Polytechnic". Said Head of Social Education and Counseling Education Agency (Badiklit Pensos) Syahabuddin Ministry of Social Affairs (Social Affairs) at the Social Workers Professional Development Center and Social Extension Workers Office. Also present as a guest speaker in this activity, Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hartono Laras. The Secretary General explained about the contents of the Act consisting of 12 chapters; 38 articles regulate social workers, 28 articles on social worker practices and 3 articles on general matters.

"This law has a mandate that must be completed to immediately be made and regulated by its regulations, namely: 1 government regulation on social rehabilitation; 7 regulations of the Minister of Social Affairs and 2 regulations of the Minister of Education and Culture," said Hartono

In essence, all matters relating to the profession of social workers are regulated in this Law, and for the later arrangements need to be made to perfect their application to social worker practices, education, policy regulations, Hartono explained

The Consortium Coordination Meeting discussed the work plan agenda related to the follow-up with the birth of Law Number 14 of 2019 concerning Social Workers. Also present in this activity was the Head of the Legal Bureau of the Social Ministry.
