AMBON (November 6, 2019) - The implementation of partnership activities between the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BRSPDI) "Nipotowe" Palu and the Maluku Provincial Social Service did not feel like it had entered its fourth day.

The material for the activities given aims to motivate and empower Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PDI). Despite their limitations, those with intellectual disabilities can be trained in simple skills through vocational activities and psychosocial therapy exercises.

The activity began with simple things that can be done by the PDI. One of them is through the Follow Instruction game activity which is packaged in various activities according to the ability level of the participants, for example, understanding directions forwards, backwards, left, right, which are then enhanced with word opponents, concentration exercises and also includes games with numbers. As a result, the participants were more enthusiastic and motivated to complete the assigned tasks.

"I want to learn how to make doormat for your brother (Beta mau belajar membuat keset kaki kakak)," said Lita, one of the participants who took part in the vocational activity.

Lita, who was initially shy about participating in the activities, showed her interest in studying. Even Lita doesn't want her friends to interfere when she is busy working on her skills.

"Is it right, sister?," asked Lita from time to time to the instructor to make sure what she had done was correct.

Even though sometimes the instructor has to justify her, Lita is still enthusiastic about doing the assignment.
