MAJALENGKA (November 16, 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs together with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives handed over social assistance to residents of Majalengka Regency, West Java, which was carried out at the Al-Mizan Majalengka Islamic Boarding School.

The total assistance provided was worth IDR51 billion, consisting of the Family Hope Program (PKH) worth IDR32 billion, Nusantara Economic Heroes (PENA) worth IDR326 million, Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) worth IDR8.4 billion, Integrated Welfare Houses (RST) IDR1 billion, Orphans Assistance (YAPI) worth IDR707 million, disability assistance worth IDR789 million, burial assistance worth IDR 800 million, and entrepreneurship worth IDR 212 million.

"Alhamdulillah, with the cooperation between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, we can assist in the community welfare, especially the residents of Majalengka. This assistance is significant, at least it reduces the difficulties of the community. As a member of parliament, of course, I will continue to fight so that this social assistance continues to be distributed and is right on target to those in need," said Kiai Maman in his speech.

Kiai Maman emphasized that this social assistance was not only symbolically handed over on this occasion, but also in parallel continued to be distributed periodically in accordance with the mechanism carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs along with the supervision and attention of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

On that occasion, Kiai Maman also directly handed over dozens of wheelchairs, canes, and other assistive devices to the people with disabilities who were present. The atmosphere changed to emotion when the people with disabilities and their families received assistance.

Kiai Maman also took the time to chat while providing motivational encouragement to continue to be enthusiastic and productive despite all the shortcomings.

"God willing, we will distribute more social assistance to in-need persons next year. He also asked the public to actively report directly to him if they find people who need assistance," Kiai Maman added.

"Thank you to the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing the assistance which will be very helpful for our residents, especially Majalengka Regency. Hopefully, the Beneficiary Families (KPM) will be more independent and if there are problems, they can contact me or video call if necessary," said Maman.

The assistance was symbolically handed over by Maman Imanul Haq to the Chairmen of the Al Mizan Foundation and several representatives of the Beneficiaries (PM) at the Al Mizan Islamic Boarding School Hall in Majalengka, West Java.

Isep Sepriyan, representing the Ministry of Social Affairs, said that the Ministry of Social Affairs is present with many programs, including PKH, BPNT, RST, YAPI, Elderly Food, Disability Food, and other assistance.

"Hopefully the assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the members of the DPR RI Commission will be right on target and felt by the community," said Isep.

One of the parents of the beneficiary, Restu Khaerullah (18), received assistance for a cerebral palsy wheelchair and felt very touched and grateful. "Alhamdulillah, so far I have only used a regular wheelchair and with Allah's permission I can get a cerebral palsy wheelchair," said Nina, the mother of the beneficiary.

"I hope I will be given patience and continue to take care of my child seriously in the current situation," said Nina.

This working visit was also attended by the Head of the Majalengka Social Office Iwan Dirwan, Chairman of the Al Mizan Foundation Asep Zaenal Arifin, Middle Social Worker Isep Sepriyan, representatives from the Inten Soeweno Cibinong Center, the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation, the Directorate of the Elderly, the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security, as well as PKH Companions, Social Rehabilitation Companions, Community Groups (Pokmas), District Social Welfare Worker (TKSK) and beneficiaries.
