MANADO (17th June 2020) - The Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities (BRSPDSN) "Tumou Tou" in Manado distributed social assistance in the form of basic food assistance for person with visual sensory disabilities affected by COVID-19 in various Regencies/Cities in North Sulawesi.
Bitung City, Mobagu City, South Minahasa Regency and Tomohon City were the first target for the distribution of social assistance for the second stages of the basic food assistance with a total of 228 packages of basic food distributed.
Social assistance in the form of basic food assistance is a form of concern for the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through BRSPDSN "Tumou Tou" Manado in dealing with COVID-19 for affected communities, especially Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities.
The total amount of assistance to be distributed reaches 1055 packages for the North Sulawesi region which are channeled through several stages considering the time and terrain to be taken.
Given several Regencies/Cities need an exit and entry permits letter (SIKM) which is equipped with the Health Result from the Public Health Service or a Rapid Test.
This distribution will continue for two weeks, which is planned to reach North Minahasa Regency, Tondano Regency, Southeast Minahasa Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency and Manado City.
The food packages which contain several basic necessities such as rice, eggs, canned fish, oil, biscuits, noodles, soap and detergent are expected to help and be utilized properly by recipients in dealing with COVID-19.
Head of the Bitung City Social Service, Give Renaldow Mose, said that a lot of social assistance came in, but very few were right on target because the distribution did not involve the Social Service.
"The distribution of Social Assistance shows a touch and concern for Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities in Bitung City. For this reason, I would like to thank the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through BRSPDSN "Tumou Tou" in Manado," said Give.
Felma (35 y.o), one of the persons with visual sensory disabilities who received the basic food assistance in South Minahasa expressed her gratitude for the government's attention and hoped that the COVID-19 pandemic would end soon.
"Thank you to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the South Minahasa Social Service for caring Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities, like us in South Minahasa who are affected by COVID-19," said Felma.
