Medan "Insyaf" Drug Abuse Victims Rehabilitation Center Distributes Basic Food Assistance
DELI SERDANG (30 May 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, through Medan "Insyaf" Social Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abuse Victims (BRSKPN) handed over 221 packages of Basic Food Assistance for people experiencing economic difficulties due to the impact of COVID-19 in Deli Serdang Regency.
The 221 packages of Basic Food Assistance will be distributed in two villages, namely 111 packages in Lau Bakeri village and 110 packages in Sampe Cita village. On this occasion, the Head of the Center, A. Sulaiman, in his speech said that the contents of the Basic Food Assistance packages were 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 2 biscuits, 1 box of instant noodles, 1 sardine, 30 eggs and 300 thousand bath soap. rupiah.
Meanwhile, the social assistance distribution process collaborates with the Village Head, Police Sector and Koramil (District Military Headquarters) of Kutalimbaru.
Sulaiman emphasized that the recipients of Basic Food Package are people who are less fortunate because they are affected by COVID-19 and do not receive other social assistance such as BST and PKH.
Anto Sinulingga, the Head of Sampe Cita Village, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Medan "Insyaf" Social Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abuse Victims for caring and providing basic necessities for the residents of Sampe Cita village. He ensures that that the recipients of the Basic Food Assistance are right on target according to the direction of the Head of the Medan "Insyaf" Center. "This assistance eases the burden on the residents affected by the impact of COVID-19," he said.
Meanwhile Batang Sitepu, a recipient of the Basic Food Assistance who works as an angkot driver said that the assistance has lightened his burden to meet the needs of his family. "I haven't worked for 3 months. No one rent the vehicle because people are afraid of contracting COVID-19. I hope that COVID-19 pandemic will be over soon and I can work normally as usual".
The distribution of Basic Food Assistance in Lau Bakeri and Sampai Cita villages runs smoothly without any fuss and crowds and applies health protocols established by the government.
