Meohai Center Kendari Quick Response to Flash Flood Disaster in North Konawe Regency

NORTH KONAWE (July 6, 2022) - The flash flood that hit Boenaga Village, Lasolo Islands District has submerged at least a dozen houses, schools, and other public facilities. As a quick response to the disaster, MoSA through Meohai Center Kendari sent a case response team to distribute aid to affected communities on Friday, July 8, 2022.

 

The head of Meohai Center, Budi Sucahyono, who also directly led the distribution of aid, said that as soon as he knew about the disaster, he deployed his team immediately rushed to the scene. As for the assistance brought by several 2 cars in the form of necessities, family kits, ready-to-eat food, children's food, mattresses, blankets, etc.

 

He said he had problems reaching the location because the road access was difficult and muddy, so the team had to be stopped several times because the car was embedded in the muddy road.

 

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to good teamwork, everything can be passed and we can distribute assistance," he concluded.

 

In this emergency response, Meohai Center distributed assistance including rice (150 kg), necessities (15 packages), mattresses (30 pieces), blankets (30 pieces), family kits (15 sets), ready-to-eat food (150 pieces), mineral water, children's food (15 packs), and ready-to-eat side dishes (300 pieces).

 

The Head of Boenaga Village, Adam said his party was very grateful for the attention given by MoSA to the residents affected by the flood.

 

"A total of 75 of our residents have been affected, thank God, MOSA helped us with the assistance," he concluded.
