KENDARI (June 18, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Meohai Center Kendari carried out a comprehensive assessment in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Before the assessment activities, Meohai Center Team coordinated with the Social Office of Muna Regency regarding the implementation of comprehensive assessment activity in Muna Regency from June 15 - 18 2022.

La Takari, Head of the Social Rehabilitation Division of Muna Regency welcomed the arrival of the Meohai Center assessment team and hoped that the stakeholders in Muna Regency would help launch the goals and objectives so that PPKS candidates could be identified as a whole.

In addition, the implementation of this assessment also involved two (2) Social Rehabilitation companions as the spearhead of the assessment implementation in Kontunaga District and continued to Lohia District.

The Comprehensive Assessment is the second stage of assessment, the aim is to ensure that PPKS candidates who have been assessed at an early stage are still present and further identification of problems will be carried out so that the provision of assistance is right on target.

The provision of assistance to the elderly and persons with disabilities refers to Law Number 13 of 1998 on the welfare of the elderly, especially articles 1 and 4, Government Regulation Number 43 of 2014 articles 36 and 37 on the implementation of efforts to improve the social welfare of the elderly, Law Number 11 Year 2009 article 6 on social welfare further emphasizes the need to provide guarantees and welfare for the elderly and Law Number 8 Year 2016 on disability which states that persons with disabilities also have the same rights as humans in general who need services and special treatment.

The initial assessment, which originally targeted 109 PPKS, left 70 PPKS which are divided into several clusters, namely: ABH (Child Against the Law) cluster, the Elderly cluster, the Drug Abuse cluster, the ODGJ cluster (People with Mental Disorders) and the Disability Cluster (Physical, Mental, Visual, Down Syndrome, Intellectual) due to the large number of case responses that are very urgent and must be handled immediately.

La Takari expressed his gratitude to MoSA and Meohai Center Kendari for their attention to PPKS candidates in Muna Regency.

With the implementation of this comprehensive assessment, it is hoped that assistance can be distributed according to the needs of PPKS so that it can be useful and can help ease the burden that has been felt by PPKS so far.
