Message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia: Donation is not to Buy Cellphones or Credits

PONTIANAK (August 9, 2022) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Pepen Nazaruddin, assisted Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI), Family Hope Program (PKH), and cooking oil assistance at Sungai Duri Market, Bengkayang Regency, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, worth IDR 133,988,425,000.

Assistance was given to 100 Beneficiary Families (KPM) in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan consisting of 90 KPM PKH and 10 KPM ATENSI (2 wheelchairs, 2 wheelchairs for cerebral palsy, 2 productive elderly, 2 smart guide sticks, and 2 YAPI (orphans and orphans whose parents died due to Covid-19).

President Joko Widodo greeted the KPM and urged that the assistance provided should not be used to buy cellphones/credit, but that the aid should be used to buy necessities and cooking oil.

Various ATENSI assistance is managed by the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely Satria Center in Baturraden.

Rini Muslimin (40), the mother of Rio Christian, was happy to receive attention from the Government, Rio Christian was originally born normal with a weight of 2.9 kg and a height of 51 cm, and when he was two months and two weeks old he was sick and had died or was in a coma for 1 month. half an hour at home and then taken to the hospital according to the doctor's diagnosis that Rio Christian had an infection of the cerebrospinal fluid in his head.

"Currently Rio Christian can't walk, can't talk and can't sit, and only lies on the bed, for regular feeding and drinking, I'm given a schedule," said Rini.

"As Rio Christian's parents, We thank the President and other governments who take care of our children and hopefully Mr. President is in the protection of God Almighty," Rini hoped.

Furthermore, a sad story was also told by Nadya (47), the mother of Vania Ataya (5) who told that her husband died of pneumonia and was sentenced to COVID, Vania's father was treated for 12 days for isolation and was declared dead. "There was no special message before Vania's father died," she said sadly.

Savings assistance is used to pay for school needs because her child is still in school and has aspirations to be a chef (cook vegetables and others).

"I hope that my child can study hard and can help their parents in the future, for me a child is everything and education is the main thing", Nadya hoped.

She thanked the President for helping her, his husband died of covid and hoped that Mr. President and Mrs. Minister are always healthy and given a long life.
