Minister of Social Affairs Inaugurates ATENSI Creation Center in Magelang

MAGELANG (5 June 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, inaugurated the ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) "Antasena" in Magelang Saturday (5/6). This is the 3rd SKA inaugurated after SKA Pangudi Luhur Bekasi and SKA Kartini Temanggung.

SKA, which is a center for entrepreneurship and vocational development as well as a media for promoting the work of beneficiaries in one area in Antasena Magelang provides cafes & restaurants, art centers, laundry, salons & barbershops, screen printing, home industry for bread production, handicrafts, motorcycle repair shops, workshops and car wash, electronic service, welding workshop, various hydroponic vegetables, fish farming, and youth center.

SKA "Antasena" Magelang, which is located at Jalan Magelang - Purworejo, Salaman District, Magelang, Central Java has become a learning medium for the beneficiary children to hone their entrepreneurial skills. SKA is also for recreation and therapy for children who need special protection.

In the future, the Centers owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs will be multifunctional, "This Center used to only handle children who have problems. But after I observed it, I tried to create a concept that the Center should be multifunctional, not only serving children but also the elderly, people with disabilities, victims of drug abuse, as well as persons with social deviance issues and trafficking victims. So they don't need to go far for social rehabilitation," explained Risma.

Then, added Risma, after they graduated from the Center, the Ministry of Social Affairs thought of developing the ATENSI Creation Center to provide a forum so that the Center's graduates could start a business in the Center. So the Social Rehabilitation Centers belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs needs to develop this SKA.

The Regent of Magelang, Zainal Arifin, appreciated the Ministry of Social's efforts. "We feel extraordinary enthusiasm in managing community-based social arrangements and a sense of caring for each other to realize social welfare. We support and we are ready to follow up on further directions," said Zainal when giving a welcome speech to Social Minister Risma.

During her visit, the Minister of Social Affairs had a dialogue with the beneficiaries who were in the workshop and car wash. "You don't have to worry. People have made mistakes, but if they make mistakes, they are called stupid people. You are not what you used to be. Only you can change, not others. Believe that God is forgiving. God gave us talent, show us you can be trusted," said Risma giving advice and encouragement.

The Minister of Social Affairs went around visiting several locations such as cafes and restaurants that provided coffee and snacks. Risma also visited a motorcycle repair shop and met with the beneficiaries and one of the alumni of "Antasena" Center who is now a Youtuber with millions of subscribers by displaying motorcycle repair tutorial content.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Social Affairs also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesia Offroad Federation (IOF) and Indonesian Inter-Population Radio (RAPI). The MoU is implemented to cooperate in the implementation of Social Welfare.

Furthermore, to support the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program for marginalized communities through the concept of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Resale, and Reshare plus the development of social values, an MoU was signed with PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) and the Mandiri Natural Creative Business Foundation (Kumala).

In addition to signing the MoU, the Minister of Social Affairs also handed over ATENSI assistance to the Al Marina Gunung Kidul Child Welfare Institution (LKSA) for child care by foster parents. The SKA Award is given to graduates who are the recipients of outstanding beneficiaries of the Magelang "Antasena" Center, Siswanto or familiarly called Siboen who has now become a successful Youtuber.

After visiting some SKA locations, the Minister of Social Affairs and her staff were invited to see avocado nurseries, harvest catfish, and try some children's games such as archery and wall climbing.

The inauguration procession of SKA Antasena Magelang was marked by the signing of the inscription and the release of pigeons by the Minister of Social Affairs together with members of Commission VIII DPR RI, the Regent of Magelang and echelon 1 officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

This visit was also attended by Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, K.H. Muslich Zainal Abidin, Hj. Endang Maria Astuti, KH Buchori Yusuf and Wastam, Director General of Social Rehabilitation Harry Hikmat, Director General of Poverty Handling Asep Sasa Purnama, Regent of Magelang Zainal Arifin, Echelon 2 of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Heads of Social Rehabilitation Centers, Head of Central Java Province Social Service, Head of Magelang Regency Social Service, and Managers of Institutions Recipient of Compulsory Reporting (IPWL) Nurul Ichsan Al Islami Islamic Boarding School, Ustadz Akhmad Maulana Ichsan.
