Minister of Social Affairs Risma Gives Compensation to Survivors of the Lampung Flood Disaster
The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, visited South Lampung in order to provide compensation and assistance to survivors of the flood disaster in South Lampung.
This compensation of IDR15 million / victim was handed over to the heirs at their respective residences. "We provide compensation in accordance with our duties. Compensation for victims of death is IDR15 million. We have handed it over to the heads of both families," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
In addition to compensation, the Minister of Social Affairs also helps meet the daily needs of the victim's family. The assistance included basic food packages for each heir, 1 package of school supplies, 1 package of male prayer equipment, 2 packages of female prayer equipment, 1 package of kitchen equipment, cutlery and children's toys.
Holisah admitted that she did not expect to experience a loss like this. She seemed still devastated, but still hoped to continue her life for the sake of children's education.
"I hope my children can still go to school, until we go to college. Become successful people," said the middle-aged woman who couldn't stop wiping her tears.
Hearing this, the Minister of Social Affairs spontaneously handed over educational assistance to Holisah who has 2 children who are still at school. "Earlier we asked for education costs for children, we have cleared them, we will help pay for one year," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
The four residents who died were victims of the flood disaster that submerged three sub-districts in South Lampung Regency, namely Katibung, Candipuro and Sidomulyo Districts. The floods were caused by heavy rains that have flushed the area since Thursday (27/10) at 01.00 WIB in the morning.
