Minister of Social Affairs Risma Inspects RST Locations and Provides Assistance to Leprosy Sufferers

EAST SUMBA (May 18, 2024) - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini again visited East Sumba Regency to inspect the location for the Integrated Prosperous House (RST) construction and provide some assistance. This is a manifestation of the Minister of Social Affairs fulfilling his promise during his previous visit to East Sumba Regency on May 2, 2024.
During the first visit, the Minister of Social Affairs visited the RST location of an aid recipient named Niwa Lepir and held a dialogue, concluding that the place needed clean water.
Moving to the next location, the Minister of Social Affairs handed over aid to leprosy sufferers through the Santo Demian Foundation at the Cendana Hotel. Assistance was provided such as training clothes for adults and children, mattresses, and toiletries.
Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs also handed over assistance in the form of prosthetic legs and social empowerment of laying hens at the Bakti Luhur orphanage.
Also present at today's activity was the Regent of East Sumba, Christofel Praing, Deputy Regent of East Sumba, David Melo Wadu, Dandim 1601, Lt. Col. Doman Endro Pramono, as well as the leadership within the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.
