Minister of Social Affairs Risma Persuades Parents So Their Children Can Undergo Treatment

The Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini distributed Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support and donations from kitabisa.com to four disability beneficiaries (PM) at the Efata Center in Kupang.

On that occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs persuaded beneficiary parents to want to try for the recovery of their children. As has been known, parents are still reluctant to take their children for treatment and therapy because of considerations for the long treatment time and the long distance from home to health facilities. For this reason, Risma assured the parents that the Ministry of Social Affairs would facilitate accommodation and transportation during the treatment process.

"Don't worry. We will pay for everything. The important thing is your wishes. It's a bit long, it can take up to a month, but later on, your children will be able to walk," she said. In addition, parents also feel pessimistic about their child's recovery. Knowing this, the Minister of Social Affairs immediately demonstrated the success of one of the beneficiaries who initially could only lie on the bed, but after therapy he was able to carry out daily activities independently.

"That's not fair to them, maam, sir. Don't let the condition be that way, we have to believe that God is still up there. You must be willing for their treatment, because they still has a long life. No one will take care of them when you are no longer here. Especially now that many donations have come in," she said.

On this occasion there were four beneficiaries present, namely Yohanes Fukundus Koko and Ignasius Niki from East Manggarai, Naila Lembu Nai from Manggarai, and Apriliano Rabun from West Manggarai. The four received ATENSI support from the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Efata Center in Kupang and the Mahatmiya Center in Bali. Apart from that, they also get various donations from kitabisa.com.

Yohanes received a donation of IDR62 million, Ignasius IDR75 million, Naila IDR47 million, and Apriliano IDR27 million. Kitabisa.com CEO, Alfatih Timur, who was also present, said that the assistance was given in the form of money which was given in stages according to need.
