SUKABUMI (20 May 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, through Ciungwanara Bogor Center, assisted the person with intellectual disability who was a victim of sexual abuse in Sukabumi City, West Java.

Ciungwanara Center deployed 2 (two) Social Workers to carry out assessments and provide psychosocial support services to persons with disabilities.

Armed with the information received from the Religious Social Research Institute for the City of Sukabumi, the Ciungwanara Center team visited the Sukabumi City Social Service and was received by the Head of Social Rehabilitation Raden Abdul Muis.

Furthermore, the team explained the aim and purpose of the visit, namely to carry out assessments and provide services for psychosocial support to victims.

The Social Worker of Ciungwanara Center Joko Triono explained that based on the information collected, cases of sexual abuse that befell the child "S" (not her real name) have received assistance from the Religious Social Research Institute. The legal process escort has also been carried out, the Social Service will work together to provide assistance and services.

"We thank the Ministry of Social Affairs through Ciungwanara Bogor Center for their attention to this case. We can work together to handle it so that the rights of persons with disabilities can be fulfilled," said Raden Abdul Muis.

Head of Ciungwanara Center, Siti Sari Rumayanti, also advised the team to provide psychosocial support services in order to reduce the psychological injuries currently experienced by the victims of sexual harassment.

After coordinating with the Sukabumi City Social Service, the team from the Ciungwanara Center, accompanied by representatives from the Social Service and companion for persons with disabilities, headed to the victim's house. Arriving at the victim's house, the team was received by the biological mother of S.
