Ministry of Social Affairs Conducts Case Responses to Save Person with Disabilities
BANDUNG (October 26, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through "Wyata Guna" Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Visual Disabilities (BRSPDSN) Bandung Case Response Team, accompanied by the Cibeunying Kidul District, Padasuka Village, Bandung City Social Office and PSM (Community Social Workers), responded to the case of "TMH" in Bandung. “TMH” is a person with mental disabilities/Cerebral Palsy who has been disabled since birth because the oxygen pathway to the brain is narrowed.
“TMH” is currently only being taken care by his retired father. Case response actions are a form of state presence through the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in improving social services for people with disabilities.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, TMH's father opened a small internet cafe, offline motorcycle taxis and sold birds with an income of around Rp1,000,000/month. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, TMH's father's income has decreased drastically as he sometimes doesn't get any income at all. Previously, "TMH" had received assistance from the Social Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (ASPD) in the 2016-2019 period from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. As long as the COVID-19 pandemic has not received assistance from any program.
In response to this, the Head of "Wyata Guna" Center in Bandung, Sudarsono, gave directions so that the provision of assistance was focused on efforts to meet the basic needs of "TMH", and an assessment was carried out to see various alternatives that could be used to improve the stall business owned by the father so that his needs were met. his family. Assistance was given in the form of basic food packages which included 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of oil, 4 cans of condensed milk, 10 packs of boiled Indomie, 1 kg of sugar, 2 packs of wafers and personal necessities "TMH" in the form of 1 box of pampers. "Wyata Guna" Center ensure that the Ministry of Social Affairs is present for all Indonesians.
