BANDUNG (February 13, 2021) - Director
of Social Rehabilitation for Children, Kanya Eka Santi representing the
Director-General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs of
the Republic of Indonesia attended the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas)
Forum for Child Social Welfare Institutions (LKSA) - Child Orphanage Social Institutions
(PSAA) held at Wisma Pandawa Bandung on February 11-14, 2021.
Rapimnas
Forum LKSA - PSAA is a routine agenda carried out by the National Forum of LKSA
- PSAA which aims to improve coordination of related parties and strengthen
LKSA - PSAA institutions, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Rapimnas
activity this time was filled with various interesting talk shows, one of which
took the theme "Encouraging the Implementation of Good Foster Care
Policies and Practices in Indonesia, which was attended by the Governor of West
Java, Ridwan Kamil virtually.
"In
relation to Child Social Welfare, we certainly will continue to make
breakthroughs from the level of Child-Friendly City policy, presenting Child
Forums and fundamental support for Child Orphanage Social Institutions
(PSAA)," said Ridwan Kamil or often called Emil.
Regarding
Foster Care, Emil said that currently he has become a foster parent and
continues to campaign for the Foster Care Program to the community. "For
the purpose of worship, I have raised an orphan as our youngest child. We
continue to strive to guide and educate this child the best we could so that he
can become a useful human being in the future,” he added.
For his
efforts in campaigning for the Foster Care Program, Fornas PSAA - LKSA gave an
award directly to Emil as a Foster Care Ambassador. Through this award, it is
hoped that Emil can continue to promote good practices of Foster Care so that
many parties can emulate this to protect children who need
care.
"The
Ministry of Social Affairs is currently actively campaigning for Foster Care,
we are very happy because as the number one figure in West Java, Ridwan Kamil
wants to be a model in implementing this program", said Kanya.
"I
will commit physically and spiritually to Foster Care program," Emil
replied.
Childcare
through Foster Care is an effort to fulfill the need for affection, attachment,
safety, and permanent and sustainable welfare in the best interests of the
child. This has been regulated in Government Regulation Number 44 of 2017 on
the Implementation of Child Care. LKSA must act as an agent of change that can
ensure that the family is the main factor in childcare.
