ACEH TAMIANG (January 27, 2021) β Entering the beginning of the year, natural disasters hit several regions in Indonesia. Aceh Tamiang District in Aceh Province is one of the areas affected by the flood disaster. The impact of floods in Aceh Tamiang has inundated 58 villages in 11 sub-districts, with a total of 27,733 people affected.
As a quick response to the disaster, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Head of Regional I Sumatra Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) along with the Social Protection for Victims of Natural Disasters (PSKBA) Directorate Team, Social Protection for Victims of Social Disasters (PSKBS) Directorate, Head of Social Office for Aceh Tamiang Regency and the Team, Head of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Bahagia Social Rehabilitation Center for People with HIV (BRSODH) Medan and Team, Head of Darussaadah Social Rehabilitation Center for Children in Need of Special Protection (LRSAMPK) Aceh and the team handed over aid packages for residents who affected by flooding.
"The aid package in the form of 600 ready-to-eat food packages, 300 children's food packages, 250 mattresses, and 300 red blankets is expected to be able to ease the burden on residents affected by floods in the Aceh Tamiang Regency area," explained the Head of "Darussa'adah" LRSAMPK Aceh, Darmanto.
The aid package was symbolically handed over to the Regent of Aceh Tamiang, Mursil Together with the Social Office and Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) who are on duty in Aceh Tamiang flood disaster management.
In addition to handing over assistance, the team from the "Darussa'adah" Children's Center Aceh also carried out data collection and initial assessment of the psychosocial conditions of children affected by the flood.
In addition, the local social worker team also provides assistance and psychosocial support services to flood-affected children in Aceh Tamiang who need services.
βIn addition to the delivery of assistance packages from Linjamsos, we are from Darussa'adah Center as well as cross-sectoral coordination, and assessment of needs. The team also provides psychosocial support services to affected children in need,β added the Head of the Sub-Division of Social Rehabilitation Services for Darussa'adah Children's Center Aceh, Raharjo.
"Thank you for the assistance that was distributed and hopefully it will be useful for residents affected by the flood, in the future there will be big floods due to the leaking of the embankment, so that it doesn't happen in the future," said Saleh, one of the victims of the flash flood.
In carrying out this task, Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) are also carried out, especially for vulnerable groups (children, elderly and disabled) with full support from social pillars (District Social Welfare Worker (TKSK), Social Worker Serve Unit (Sakti Peksos), PKH companions, peace pioneers, Youth Organizations, Tagana).
