WEST LOMBOK (March 13, 2021) - The "Paramita" Children's Center Mataram Outreach Team (TRC) responded to the case of a house fire experienced by an elderly couple. The fire was caused by a short circuit that occurred on Friday, March 12, 2021, at around 22.30 WITA. The condition of the residential building which is only a gazebo causes the fire to quickly spread around the building.
There were no fatalities in this incident, based on observations made by "Paramita" TRC, the condition of the elderly is currently healthy, but they do not have a place to live. The grandfather only made a living as odd labor and had no relatives, therefore for the time being the two elderly people lived on the terrace belonging to their close neighbour.
The assistance was handed over by Lalu Zohri as the Coordinator of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section of the "Paramita" Children's Center accompanied by the Head of the Child and Elderly Section of the West Nusa Tenggara Province Social Office, Head of LKSA Ijtihadul Mu'minin, and Social Worker Serve Unit (Sakti Peksos) of West Lombok Regency. The aid items that were handed over were mattresses, snacks and fast food.
I Ketut Supena as the Head of the Center in a separate place said, "Paramita Children's Center is always ready to respond to social problems that are not just children, but as the center for social welfare services, we are obliged to provide a quick response, especially in cases of emergencies."
Furthermore, the Head of the "Paramita" Children's Center hopes that the assistance provided by the Center can slightly ease the burden of the disaster victims and hopefully in the future there will be assistance for habitable housing for the two elderly people.
