Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Compensation for Flood Heirs and Landslide Victims in Lebak, Banten
The landslide disaster in Lebak Regency, Banten, has left many sad stories. One of the sad stories experienced by Nurhedi (40), a man who lives in Cigobang Village, had to feel the bitterness of life because his wife and three children died because of a landslide.
When we met him last Tuesday, he told us about the tragedy that had befallen his family. According to him, the sad story that happened at the beginning of the new year came so fast. Nurhedi, who was relaxing in front of the house at that time, was suddenly startled by a roar. In less than a second, the hill next to his house suddenly landslides and hits his house. It was absurdly sad when he realized that his wife and three children were still in the house. After the evacuation, he had to accept the fact that his wife and three children were found dead.
Not only four members of Nurhedi's family who had to die due to floods and landslides in Lebak, Banten, but there are still seven more people who have suffered the same fate. The eleven people have now received compensation of 15 million rupiah each from the Ministry of Social Affairs which is handed over to their heirs. The wife of the Minister of Social Affairs, Grace Batubara, handed over compensation to the heirs of the victims who died in Lebak, when she visited the evacuation post on Tuesday (21/1).
