Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Social Assistance in Bekasi Cikeas River
The Center for Social Rehabilitation of Former Midfielders and Beggars (BRSEGP) "Pangudi Luhur" Bekasi distributed food aid to residents on the banks of the Cikeas River, to be precise in Jatibaru Village, Kalijaya Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. A total of 130 basic food packages were symbolically handed over by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation in Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Harry Hikmat.
A total of 737 basic food packages will be distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs through BRSEGP "Pangudi Luhur" Bekasi in collaboration with Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) spread across several areas including Bekasi and Jakarta. The target of giving food assistance is residents who are directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and many of them are daily scavengers.
Harry Hikmat, who was accompanied by several officials within the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, had the opportunity to directly provide food packages and received gratitude from the residents, especially to the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing basic food assistance to reduce their current burden.
