GOWA (March 19, 2021) - As an effort to follow up the direction of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini to build the ATENSI Creation Center, the "Gau Mabaji" Elderly Social Rehabilitation Center (BRSLU) in Gowa is preparing the ATENSI Park as a tourist attraction.
The center, which stands on an area of 2.9 hectares, will utilize the existing unused land to plant various plants, such as medicinal plants, fruits, and flowers.
Medicinal plants grown include white ginger, red ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, kencur, galangal, turmeric and Dewa leaves. Not without purpose, the planting of medicinal plants is intended so that the elderly can use medicinal plants as an alternative in overcoming the health problems they face.
Besides the medicinal garden, fruits such as dragon fruit, papaya, mango, rambutan, durian and sweet potatoes are also planted.
The Orchid Garden which is a mainstay is also being worked on. There are various orchids that adorn the corner of the garden, from ground orchids to hanging orchids.
Apart from being spoiled by the visual views from the garden, visitors will also be spoiled by the sound of splashing water from the fountain pool which is also used as a place for tilapia and koi fish cultivation.
Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly, Andi Hanindito said that Balai and Loka are representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs which in the future will provide social rehabilitation services for five clusters including Children, Elderly, Persons with Disabilities, Victims of Drug Abuse, as well as Persons with Social Deviance Issues and Victims of Trafficking in Persons.

"To make the Center and Loka friendly for the five social rehabilitation service clusters, ATENSI Park will be made accessible, equipped with handrailing, guidance blocks, and safe road access for people with disabilities," said Andi.
In an effort to realize the ATENSI Garden, the Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly who was accompanied by the Head of the Elderly Center "Gau Mabaji" in Gowa, Wahidin also visited the Orchid Garden and Chrysanthemum Garden in Malino City, Gowa Regency, which are not far from the Center.
"We made a visit to the Orchid Garden and Chrysanthemum Garden to learn the science of plant cultivation which we can apply to create an ATENSI Garden in our Center," said Didin, as he is usually called.
The team saw the process of cultivating orchids and chrysanthemums, starting from the nursery, care, and harvesting process. Asep, as the owner of Chrysanthemum garden cultivation, also gave flower seeds as souvenirs for this visit to complete the collection at ATENSI Park.
"We are very happy and enthusiastic to help the Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Gau Mabaji" Center in Gowa to develop ATENSI Park," said Asep.
In the future, training on the cultivation of orchids, chrysanthemums and other plants is also planned to enrich the knowledge of the beneficiaries in the Center.
