INDRAMAYU (March 30, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through 3 Technical Implementation Units (UPT), namely the "Tan Miyat" Disability Center Bekasi , Ciung Wanara Disability Center in Bogor and the Pangudi Luhur TrainingCenter in Bekasi, responded to the fire caused by the explosion of the oil refinery owned by PT Pertamina RU VI Balongan.

According to information from the Head of Balongan Village, Radi (50), the burning of three tanks of Pertamina's 42 T 301 A/B/C premium product had an impact on five villages around the area including Balongan, Sukareja, Rawadalem, Sukaurip and Tegalurung villages.

"The fire occurred during heavy rain accompanied by lightning, all of us residents were very shocked and scared by the fire so big and there were four residents who were passing by suffered serious burns and were immediately referred for intensive care at the Indramayu Hospital," said Sumitra (73), an elderly resident. local.

The Emergency Response Team is led directly by the Head of the "Tan Miyat" Disability Center Bekasi , Iriani Rahayuningsiwi, who previously coordinated with the Social Office of Indramayu Regency regarding the conditions at the location.

The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through three centers provided assistance in the form of 150 packages of basic needs for residents affected by the Pertamina oil refinery fire, namely rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, personal hygiene equipment, liquid milk, snacks, and medical masks.

"We are all concerned about what happened to the residents here, especially children, women and the elderly and we hope that the assistance provided can be useful and conditions can be as conducive as before," said Iriani representing the three Ministry of Social Affairs' Centers at the location.

"There were 498 residents who took refuge in Pertamina Housing because residents were worried about the dangers of gas radiation caused by the explosion and one day before the explosion the smell of gas was very stinging and we had plans that the residents here would have a demonstration, but what happened was an explosion on Monday," said Radi (50).

The next visit was the evacuation site at the Sports Building (GOR) Perum Pertamina Bumi Patra Complex and the Emergency Response Team provided reinforcement in the form of psychosocial therapy which was responded very enthusiastically by the victims, especially children and the Emergency Response Team also provided motivation for the affected victims to keep their spirits up. and steadfast in the face of adversity.
