Ministry of Social Affairs Provides Psychosocial Services Support to Landslide Victims in Sukabumi

SUKABUMI (27 April 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Kahuripan Sukabumi Workshop, sent a Psychosocial Support Service Team (LDP) to help victims of landslides in Cigadog Village and Sadamukti Village, Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

 

Following the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that the Social Rehabilitation Center must participate in dealing with the impact of disasters, especially helping to restore the psychosocial condition of disaster victims.

 

According to residents' information, landslides hit residential areas in Cigadog Village on RT 07/03 on Sunday night (25/4/2021). Hendra Sukmana as the head of the RT revealed that there were two injured victims and at least two houses were severely damaged with the condition of the house walls being hit by a cliff slide.

 

Together with the local village apparatus the LDP Team headed for the landslide location, but the owner of the house that was hit by the landslide had been evacuated to his relative's house and the injured victim was still in the hospital.

 

The LDP team of Training Center “Kahuripan” then continued to visit Sadamukti Village, where a house, part of the building collapsed, hit by a landslide. This house has been inhabited by two siblings. For the time being, the two brothers lived in a relative's house which was located close to their house.

 

The LDP team conducts needs assessments and provides reinforcement and moral support for the tragedies that have befallen them. The Kahuripan will also connect the disaster victims with related parties, including the local Public Works Service to help repair their homes so that they can stay again.
