ALOR (April 15, 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation and Victims of Trafficking in Persons together with "Pangudi Luhur" Training Center in Bekasi carry out Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) for victims affected by a flash flood in the Alor Regency, NTT Province.

This activity is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Tri Rismaharini, in an effort to deal with disaster victims besides being provided with Assistance to Fulfill Basic Needs of Social Assistance, Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) are also provided.

The Directorate of Social Rehabilitation and Victims of Trafficking in Persons assigned a Team of LDP, Social Workers, Social Counselors, and Psychologists.

The First Team together with Watunas Training Center Pasar Rebo Jakarta on April 11-15 2021 at the Santo Yakobus Church evacuee post in Sidongkomang Hamlet, Northeast Alor District were given 70 ATENSI aid packages.

The Second Team on 13-16 April 2021 at Post II Dusun III Waisika Village, Northeast Alor District, Alor Regency, with a total of 115 victims affected consisting of 60 children, 55 mothers, and elderly people.

This LDP activity includes Observation and Assessment of the needs of victims, Recreational Therapy, psychoeducation, psycho-spiritual and providing information about the discipline of implementing health protocols, environmental hygiene, and Nature Conservation by the Susanti Social Counselor and Team.

"Alor means Sustainable Nature. The people are friendly, and they hope to be free from slavery. The women have been the backbone of the family," said Mama Mariana, a resident of Dusun III.

The ATENSI assistance provided is in the form of a Basic Needs Package consisting of basic needs, medical devices (masks), personal hygiene kits, school equipment, and supplies and snacks.

"We thank the Ministry of Social Affairs because we really hope for this assistance and it is useful. As for other hopes, the residents really need assistance e.g children's story books, tree seeds, and farmers as well as health checks," said Sulaiman, the head of the RT.

LDP activities at Command Post II Hamlet III Waisika Village, Northeast Alor District attended by the Acting Head of Social Rehabilitation Service Alor Regency Mrs. Susana Lili, Kasie Rehab for Delinquents Ms. Merry Banabera, and involved the District Social Welfare Workers (TKSK), Social Worker Serve Unit (Sakti Peksos), and the Social Counseling Forum.
