KEDIRI (April 26, 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Ciungwanara" Center for Disabilities Bogor visited the family of the crew members of the KRI Nanggala 402 in Kediri City, East Java to convey empathy and moral support for the disaster that befell them.
In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, the Ministry of Social Affairs was present to provide Psychosocial Support Services for the families of the KRI Nanggala 402 crew members.
Upon arrival in Kediri, the Psychosocial Support Service Team (LDP) of the "Ciungwanara" Center for Disabilities, consisting of 4 officers, coordinated with the local Social Office to discuss what the government could do for the families of the crew who were left behind.
Next, the officers visited the house of Sailor Deny Richi, one of the crew members of the KRI Nanggala 402 who served as a Sonar officer for approximately 2 years. Currently, Deny's wife, Fitri is pregnant and entering her last trimester. She is expected to give birth on May 5, 2021. Fitri had worked as a nurse in a hospital in Jombang and then decided to stop working after marrying Deny.
According to Fitri's statement, Deny was initially not included in the list of officers, but because one of his friends gave permission, finally Deny replaced him and was included in the list of crew members on duty.
"Actually my husband wasn't planning to leave, but then there was a change and the night before he left, he looked nervous and told his wife to always take care of herself and to come home to see our baby later," Fitri said softly.
The LDP team consisting of the Head of the "Ciungwanara" Center for Disabilities, Siti Sari Rumayanti, accompanied by a social worker, provided strengthening and comforting Fitri so she could face this test. "We are here with the relevant agencies to stay in touch and provide support to the victims' families," said Sari while holding Fitri's hand to strengthen her. The Ministry of Social Affairs and the Kediri City Social Office are committed to assisting the process of giving birth to Deny's child and will strive for Fitri to be able to work again as a nurse.
Hearing this, Fitri expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs. "Thank you very much to the Ministry of Social Affairs for being here to provide support and strengthen us," said Fitri, sobbing.
