Ministry of Social Affairs Quick Response to Landslide Survivors on Serasan Island
SERASAN (March 10, 2023) - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini ensured that the Serasan Island landslide disaster survivors, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province, were handled properly. Minister of Social Affairs Risma directly checked the distribution of logistical assistance, psychosocial support services, and operationalization of public kitchens and temporary shelters for evacuees at SMAN 1 Serasan, SDN 003 Payak and National Border Posts (PLBN) on Friday afternoon (10/3). The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed compensation to the heirs of the injured and deceased victims which was handed over directly by the Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy. Minister of Social Affairs Risma also monitors the main landslide points and will establish a Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) and a Social Barn located in the nearest location in a disaster-prone area.
