TASIKMALAYA (4th September 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center of Children in Need Special Protection BRSAMPK “Handayani” Jakarta since yesterday (03/09/20) leave to Tasikmalaya to carry out several activities as a concrete form of protection for Children in Need Special Protection (AMPK). Previously, Tasikmalaya Social Service has reported several cases of children need immediate attention.

The first case is about three children who are victims of neglect due to the behavior of their parents who are actives narcotics users. Conveyed by The Head Social Rehabilitation Section for the person with social deviance issues, Ningning said that three children had been neglected for a long time because their parents not responsible for monitoring their growth. Together with Children’s Center Head “Handayani”, Neneng Heryani, social workers immediately visited the house of the three children and conduct early investigation of the case.

It is known, they live in a very dirty and smells bad house. It seems that the house is rarely cleaned. Around the house was a smell that came from his pet's feces. In addition, the father confessed that he had a girlfriend who also lived in the house with his wife and children. Sometimes the parents and father’s girlfriend use drugs together.

Currently, the father is not working and does not have any income. The mother, who bury resentment, often took her anger out on the three children. Not often they were beaten, even locked in a room while get scolded.

"This condition is very concerning, considering that children need to get nutrition, fulfill their rights as children," Neneng said. After that, the Children Center "Handayani" case response team provide several alternative solutions to the problem, including parents who must immediately be willing to carry out rehabilitation for drugs dependence.

The "Handayani" Children’s Center tries to help fulfill their children's rights. But unfortunately, these alternatives were rejected by them and argued that they would try to improve themselves and stay away from drugs. However, "Handayani" Children’s Center provided assistance in fulfill nutrition and multivitamins for the three children.

The next case, still located in Tasikmalaya, the "Handayani" Children’s Center also response to cases for 13 children who were victims of HIV/AIDS. All of them are victims where they are infected by parents who are people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA). Considering the condition of these children is not widely known by others, and also to prevent children from being discriminated against by friends and the surrounding community, the Tasikmalaya Social Service and Tasikmalaya Regional Aids Management Commission (KPAD) provide periodic assistance in private.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Handayani" Children's Center will continue to coordinate with Tasikmalaya Social Service to monitor the growth conditions of all these children.
