PASER (12 April 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Budi Luhur" Disability Center in Banjarbaru implemented Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) in the form of an assessment and follow-up on prosthetic leg applications from a person with physical disabilities named Abdul Hamid (57 years) from Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.

Abdul Hamil is a physically disabled person whose left leg was amputated due to an accident of being bitten by a shark in a river when he was 13 years old. Around the 90s Abdul Hamid received social rehabilitation services at Disability Center “Prof. Dr. Soeharso” in Surakarta. "I have been wearing a prosthetic leg since 2013 and it was at my own expense, and currently the prosthetic leg has been damaged and can no longer be used. I sent an application letter to the Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs. Risma yesterday.

Abdul Hamid found it was very difficult to walk, because his prosthetic leg that had been using had broken at the bottom. "It can't be repaired anymore and we have to make a new one," added Hamid.

Nursoleh, a junior social worker who assessed the request for a prosthetic leg explained that this assessment was a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini to the "Budi Luhur Center for Disabilities in Banjarbaru regarding the provision of a prosthetic leg and assigned them to assess the beneficiaries.

"We have carried out an assessment, and have coordinated with the Paser District Social Service, the Center for Disabilities "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" in Surakarta. We will facilitate the manufacture of prosthetic leg in Samarinda City, which is closer to here," said Nursoleh.
